One of the most frequently asked questions that I get is “Why are my pin impressions sooooooo low??
There could be a number or reasons but I like to look at the main causes first.
- How long has the pin been pinned? Pinterest takes around 45 days to index a pin. You probably won’t see a large number or impressions right away. Remember that Pinterest is a search engine.
- Are you using keywords? Since Pinterest is a search engine, you need to optimize it for SEO. You can learn how to do that here for FREE.
- Has something shifted in the Algorithm? Pinterest is constantly evolving like Instagram and Facebook. The newest push for Idea Pins caused a drop in Static pins. Sometimes you just need to pivot your strategy.
- Are you caught in the spam filter? This could cause a sudden and drastic drop in impressions. You will need to reach out to Pinterest to have them check on your account.
These are the four most obvious causes for low impressions. Be sure to really dive into your 30 day analytics when you are reviewing your account and creating a strategy.
